Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to support our Cell Therapy, CDMO business unit. This position is remote and based in the U.S.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle inbound client calls or emails, qualify leads, and respond promptly to potential clients.
- Develop and qualify account leads through territory prospecting and regular outbound virtual contact (phone, video, etc.).
- Lead sales efforts in the assigned territory using technical and scientific skills to attract customers.
- Gather and organize data on potential customers in your designated region.
- Communicate Charles River’s products and services, informing customers of new offerings.
- Support marketing initiatives by providing subject matter expertise to design and implement marketing tools and programs aligned with company goals.
- Qualify prospective opportunities, identify business models, and communicate the value proposition effectively.
- Develop a territory management plan targeting opportunities, new accounts, and account expansion, including competitor analysis.
- Build and maintain customer relationships to promote acceptance and use of company products and services.
- Collaborate with internal teams to generate sales strategies and close opportunities.
- Assist in presenting global capabilities, qualifying leads, and closing new business, providing scientific support during calls, visits, and trade shows.
- Provide overviews of products and services to internal and external contacts, sharing portfolio opportunities across divisions.
- Gather market trend data and competitive intelligence on products and pricing.
- Address customer concerns with relevant departments for quality resolution.
- Participate in national and international trade shows and coordinate related events and presentations.
- Attend sales meetings and complete all documentation and training promptly.
- Use CRM systems to record customer interactions, monitor proposals, and generate reports on sales initiatives.
- Support customer projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following safety procedures and using protective equipment.
- Participate in overtime as required for role success.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S.) in business or related discipline.
- Experience: 3-5 years in scientific sales, preferably in cell therapy manufacturing. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted; 5+ years of sales experience can substitute for a degree.
Compensation Data
The pay range is $107K - $120K USD, with variations based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
