Director of Business Development - North East US
This is a remote role and requires the candidate to be located in the North East region of the US.
Phlow is a U.S.-based, public benefit corporation that develops and domestically manufactures APIs and finished pharmaceutical products critical to the nation’s healthcare.
In 2019, Phlow aimed to solve a long-standing problem — a broken supply chain leading to medicine shortages vital for life and health.
To address this, Phlow assembled a top-tier team and strategic partners committed to fixing the pharmaceutical supply chain and reducing reliance on foreign manufacturers for essential medicines.
The Role:
The Director of Business Development will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities for Phlow’s small molecule R&D, kilo, and metric-ton drug substance facilities. The role emphasizes lead generation, proactive prospecting, and building a robust sales pipeline to foster growth. It requires expertise in recognizing high-value opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors and converting leads into long-term partnerships.

About you:
Ideally, you will have 10+ years of combined business development/sales and scientific/technical experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences fields, with at least 3 years selling drug substance CDMO services.
Startup experience is preferred.
Knowledge of proposal development, quoting, budgeting, and managing activities within timelines is essential.
Existing customer networks, positive relationships, and experience in negotiation and execution from a drug substance CDMO role are highly desirable.
Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate solutions and ideas to diverse audiences, are required.
