Job summary

AIG in Jersey City, NJ is seeking a Business Data Analyst to identify BI and data analysis needs and translate data into actionable insights for sound business decisions.

You will collaborate with business and technical teams to define KPI, support BI & Data Warehouse strategy, and design dashboards, alerts, and reports, while leading requirements gathering in an Agile Scrum environment and training clients to use data effectively.

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or equivalent combination of education, training and progressive experience.
• 5+ Years of Business Data Analyst Experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple assignments.
• Strong critical thinking & problem-solving competency with the ability to research complex data-oriented problems.
• Proactive and results-driven with a positive can-do attitude.
• Excels in a team environment (distributed).

Responsibilities

• Understand the business at a level of detail to identify and address critical issues.
• Work with clients to determine business requirements priorities, define KPIs, and support defining our ongoing BI & Data Warehouse strategy.
• Engage business and development teams to design, and document dashboards, alerts, and reports.
• Accountable for providing project leadership including facilitating requirements gathering and presenting findings to all levels of management.
• Conducting analysis of functional business processes and functional business requirements and drive the development of user stories as a member of an Agile Scrum Team.
• Educate and train clients to use data as an analytical tool, displaying the information as content for the purpose of analysis with the option to explore.
• Influence is limited to area of specialization and unit/team.
