Job summary

The Utah Department of Workforce Services (DWS) is seeking a Senior Business Analyst for the Office of Child Care (OCC) division. You will lead the OCC Care About Childcare web app team and coordinate with DTS to align systems with OCC and DWS goals.

You will troubleshoot issues, guide system upgrades, and translate business needs into technical requirements, supporting cross-team collaboration and policy impact analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting forward-facing website issues with users and developers.
• Knowledge of computer hardware and software; experience with applications.
• Comfort with cloud storage and web-based meeting platforms.
• Ability to communicate technology needs to a development team and manage multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze problems and select effective solutions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with DTS to adapt systems for OCC needs and interface with existing systems.
• Oversee development of the Care About Childcare web app with DTS.
• Troubleshoot website issues and resolve them efficiently.
• Facilitate problem solving and evaluate action costs and benefits.
• Use process mapping and flowcharts for strategic planning.
• Anticipate policy changes affecting systems and standards.
• Monitor operations and recommend improvements.
• Understand website aesthetics, UX, navigation and content.
• Design testing plans and evaluation methods for upgrades.
• Communicate changes in plain language and manage implementation.
• Provide technical support and analyze retrieved data.
