The entire group provides reporting and analytics for all MPP Clients that have an end-to-end relationship across the Revenue Cycle (e.g., Patient Access, HIM/Middle Revenue, Billing/Collections). Partnering with Data Acquisition teams who pull data from Clients and create data models and logic with Engineering counterparts to support contractual reporting in SLAs and internal operational reporting.

This individual will support revenue cycle reporting and analytics, providing insights to drive performance improvements, budgeted SLA achievement, and client satisfaction. You will be part of multiple departments working on long-term healthcare projects to support Optum’s growth. This role offers remote work flexibility within the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities

• Independently create, optimize, and automate SQL queries for revenue cycle reporting needs.
• Design and model datasets for reporting and visualization; analyze datasets and communicate findings.
• Utilize data from various sources to support performance measurement and trending.
• Work at both detail and strategic levels, seeking operational efficiencies.
• Gather requirements through business use cases and user stories.
• Create detailed requirements documents and collaborate with project teams.
• Identify capability gaps and communicate with technical stakeholders.
• Manage documentation and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Establish testing metrics to validate business requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of healthcare data analytics or reporting experience.
• 3+ years of SQL experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Strong data mining, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot data integrity issues and propose solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years in RCM Analytics role.
• Experience with acute and ambulatory healthcare data, data modeling, and reporting.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems like Epic, Cerner, Meditech, MS4 (AS400).
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
