Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in journalism, political science, economics, or related field, or 7+ years journalism experience.
• Experience leading editorial teams, guiding reporters and producers under deadline pressure.
• Deep knowledge of the Burmese-language desk coverage area and regional dynamics.
• Strong Burmese editing and language standards.
• Experience with CMS and multi-platform publishing workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit all stories before publication, ensuring accuracy and proper format across platforms.
• Manage the desk's publishing queue and coordinate publication timing.
• Apply and uphold editorial style, language standards, and visual guidelines.
• Flag stories requiring escalation to appropriate editors before publication.
• Maintain CMS discipline with accurate metadata, captions, tags, and cross-links.
• Prepare end-of-shift handoff notes for the desk’s counterpart.
• Collaborate with Senior Producer and Producer on A/V output and standards.
