Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Political Science, International Affairs, or related field.
• Minimum of ten years journalism experience with Cambodia-focused coverage, including at least four years in a senior editorial leadership role.
• Experience managing journalists across multiple locations and time zones.
• Near-native fluency in Khmer, with excellent writing and editing skills.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial vision, priorities, and long-term Khmer Desk strategy.
• Oversee desk coverage across web, radio, video, podcasts, and social platforms.
• Approve major stories and sensitive editorial content before publication.
• Foster original reporting, enterprise journalism, and investigative reporting.
• Maintain high standards of editorial integrity, fairness, accuracy, verification, and ethics.
• Build and maintain sources within Khmer-speaking communities.
