Job summary

Paradigm Healthcare seeks a Lead Building Engineer to manage and perform hands-on maintenance of building systems in a healthcare setting. You will lead a maintenance assistant, oversee housekeeping and laundry coordination, and ensure compliance with safety and life-safety standards.

You will schedule preventive maintenance, log activities in TELS, and manage budgets while coordinating vendor work and ensuring a safe, clean environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; trade certification preferred.
• 3–5 years in building maintenance with healthcare exposure preferred.
• 1–2 years supervising small teams in a single facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
• Respond on-call to facility emergencies as needed.
• Directly supervise the maintenance assistant and mentor staff.
• Oversee housekeeping and laundry operations with department leads for compliance.
• Schedule preventative maintenance via TELS and track work orders.
• Log all activities in TELS and generate reports for audits.
• Conduct facility rounds, escalate risks, and coordinate with HR/Administration.
• Manage department budgets for supplies, labor, and repairs.
• Coordinate vendors for specialized repairs and document in TELS.
• Hire, train, and develop staff with a focus on growth mindset.
