Job summary

Paradigm at The Oak in Schulenburg, TX seeks a Lead Building Engineer to lead our facilities team. You will oversee hands-on maintenance of building systems, grounds, and equipment, while supervising a maintenance assistant and coordinating with housekeeping and laundry leads.

You will ensure safety and comfort for residents, manage preventative schedules, maintain compliance, and drive efficiency using TELS for work orders and reporting.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' hands-on building maintenance experience.
• 1-2 years directly supervising small teams in a single-facility setting.
• Familiarity with regulatory surveys, life safety codes, and essential building systems.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, and network/communications systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on repairs and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, PTAC units, fire alarms, nurse call lights, internet/network setups, and emergency equipment like generators.
• Respond on-call to facility emergencies as needed.
• Directly manage and mentor the maintenance assistant; delegate tasks to complete maintenance duties and compliance activities.
• Provide oversight to housekeeping and laundry operations, including inspections and assigning maintenance-related cleaning tasks.
• Prioritize and schedule preventive maintenance using TELS; organize work orders and generate reports for budgeting and audits.
• Log all maintenance, service, vendor, and compliance activities in TELS, including incident reports and life-safety tests.
