Job summary

The City of Durham, through the Department of Water Management, seeks skilled trades personnel focused on HVAC, electrical, and building management systems. You will maintain and troubleshoot BMS, HVAC equipment, and related controls while coordinating with teams to meet safety and operational standards.

You will prepare reports, manage work orders, and assist in project coordination, including after-hours and inclement weather work as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent with additional technical training.
• Experience with HVAC, building systems, and safety procedures is required.
• Familiarity with BMS and data reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and general maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and building systems.
• Support Building Management System installations, testing, and commissioning.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure project material availability.
• Respond to emergencies and perform repairs; maintain records and reports.
