Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Leader for our Building Specialty Services group in the US Northeast, focusing on building envelope systems and technical leadership. The role combines business development with project management for rehabilitation and new construction projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in building envelope, understands flashing, waterproofing, air barriers, and rain screens, and can mentor staff while traveling regionally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Architecture, or Science with Building Science background.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in assessing, detailing, testing and/or constructing building envelope systems.
• Strong understanding of flashing, waterproofing, roofing, cladding and rain screens.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage project teams of 1–5 staff, driving results on time and budget.
• Provide technical leadership in building envelope design, review drawings and shop drawings for water intrusion, air leakage, and thermal performance.
• Conduct field reviews on construction projects and prepare site visit reports; generate and track action lists.
• Lead proposals for new work and drive business development with internal and external clients.
• Mentor staff in technical and non-technical skills; present thought leadership in building science.
