Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Building Performance Analyst in Seattle, WA for the growing Zero+ Planning group. The role focuses on analyzing energy performance, decarbonization strategies, and coordinating with architects and engineers on new construction and retrofits.

The candidate should have 5+ years in engineering design, proficiency in energy modeling software (IES VE, EnergyPlus), and strong communication skills to present findings to non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent
• Five years of engineering design or related experience preferred
• Professional credentials (e.g., LEED-AP, WELL-AP, LFA, CEM, CPHC) preferred

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on existing building energy performance, benchmarking and weather regression.
• Establish baselines and track reductions from decarbonization measures.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers and contractors across design phases to meet decarbonization goals.
