  • Utilize simulation software to model and analyze energy systems for a diverse range of project types (multifamily, commercial, laboratory, education, healthcare, industrial, public/infrastructure, etc.). Understand the limitations or advantages of the different modeling tools available to determine the most appropriate tool to utilize based on specific project needs, systems, and other considerations.
Engage with clients and multi-disciplinary project teams to integrate energy and carbon-efficient strategies into project designs.
  • Create documentation for building permits for energy code compliance under multiple jurisdictions and code cycles. Use appropriate professional engineering judgement to apply code interpretations or pursue code alternate requests or clarifications if needed.
  • Compile documentation for sustainability certifications as needed, including creating and documenting exceptional calculations if necessary.
  • Participate in internal and external education efforts around energy and sustainability topics.
  • Maintain a commitment to lifelong learning, including new technologies and trends related to building construction, sustainability, and energy analysis.
  • Keep abreast of Washington's Clean Building Performance Act and Seattle Building Emissions Performance Standards, helping ensure clients are educated and supporting project teams and designs ability to meet current and future regulations.
  • Proven ability in:
  • Leadership, communication, project management, and quality control skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Independent worker with a startup mentality, ready to tackle challenges head‑on.
  • A commitment to building and growing the energy, sustainability, and commissioning departments, and working in a deeply collaborative environment.
  • Strong commitment to sustainable design principles.
Basic Qualifications:
