Job summary

Target’s Minneapolis HQ seeks a Sr. Professional Building Operations - Chief Engineer to lead maintenance of our corporate offices. You will oversee preventative and corrective maintenance, ensuring reliable operations and occupant comfort.

You will direct a team of technicians, monitor building systems, manage budgets, and coordinate with contractors. Strong HVAC, energy management, and building management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 year trade school degree or equivalent work experience.
• 7 years experience in building engineering in a lead capacity.
• 2nd Class C Boilers license.
• Strong HVAC and mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Strong Building and Energy Management controls experience.
• Universal CFC license.
• PC skills especially associated with building management systems, fire systems, and work order maintenance applications.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels within the company.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Class A office space and properties.
• Execute preventative and corrective maintenance.
• Monitor building management systems to optimize performance.
• Assist in energy usage monitoring and recommendations for energy saving.
• Coordinate with outside service contractors as required.
• Provide on‑call coverage and support as needed.
• Assist in preparation of operating and capital budgets.
