Brown and Caldwell seeks a Senior Building Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer to lead complex HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for commercial buildings and wastewater facilities. The role involves interpreting mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes, sizing systems, and drafting specifications using AutoCAD and Revit for detailed bid-ready documents.

This position supports work in the Eastern United States with hybrid offices in the East or remote work with travel as needed to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Has achieved or is working towards professional licensure (PE).
• Minimum of 5 years building mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and modelling.

Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC, plumbing, and fire sprinkler calculations for projects.
• Interpret mechanical, plumbing, building, and fire codes including NFPA standards.
• Size ductwork, piping, and fire sprinkler distribution systems.
• Draft and model systems using AutoCAD and Revit; prepare detailed specs.
• Review drawings/specifications for accuracy and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Mentor junior staff and provide guidance to team members.
