Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking an experienced Building Envelope engineer to join our Fort Lauderdale-based Building Envelope division. You will design, detail, and analyze roofing and building envelope systems, advise clients, and manage multi-disciplinary project deliverables.

Candidates should have 5+ years of building envelope/roofing experience, a bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering, and strong communication skills. PE/RA preferred but not required; RRO/RRC certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years working with building envelope/enclosure and roofing project experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or an Engineering discipline.
• Strong expertise in roof shop drawing/submittal review and developing roof replacement scopes of work.
• Demonstrated technical expertise with ability to perform at an expert level.
• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer preferred but not required.
• RRO or RRC certifications strongly preferred for candidates without PE/RA credentials.

Responsibilities

• Undertake building envelope/roofing design, detailing and analysis, and participate in testing, fabrication and construction administration.
• Advise architects and clients on building enclosure performance, constructability, and durability.
• Develop comprehensive roof replacement scopes of work for both new construction and roof replacement projects.
• Manage staff or team and foster training/mentoring.
• Produce details via hand sketching and using 2D and 3D CAD packages as required.
• Provide cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed.
