Job summary

Lerch Bates is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join our Building Science team in Raleigh. You will lead projects, assess existing enclosures, and contribute to new design, rehabilitation, and commissioning work.

The role combines technical leadership with client interaction to deliver durable, high-performance building envelopes. Ideal candidates bring experience across roofing, waterproofing, facades, fenestration, and air/moisture/thermal control systems, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and professional credentials preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of building enclosure consulting or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of roofing, waterproofing, facades, fenestration, and barriers.
• Experience reviewing construction documents and shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct building assessments and investigations of enclosure systems.
• Lead enclosure design reviews and prepare recommendations.
• Oversee construction quality assurance activities and field observations.
• Support commissioning, testing, and inspection plans for projects.
• Manage multiple projects, budgets, and scheduling constraints.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with clients and project teams.
