Job summary

Lerch Bates seeks an Associate Building Enclosure Consultant to join our Building Science team in the United States. You will support building envelope consulting, enclosure commissioning, and project delivery for new construction and major renovations, collaborating with senior staff to deliver technical solutions.

You will gain hands-on experience in design review, field testing, client communication, and project management while developing into an independent consultant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related discipline.
• 3–4 years of experience within architecture, engineering, construction, building science, or related industries.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; experience with AutoCAD and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate in building envelope consulting and BECx projects for new construction and major renovations.
• Review architectural drawings and enclosure details with emphasis on air, water, thermal, and vapor control systems.
• Participate in design review meetings and present technical observations and recommendations.
• Develop technical knowledge through collaboration with Senior Consultants, Directors, and project teams.
• Field testing and QA site observations as required; support enclosure coordination and performance risk assessment.
