Job summary

Lerch Bates Inc. is seeking a Building Envelope Consultant to join the Building Science team.

You will lead multiple projects and act as the primary technical resource for owners, architects, developers, and contractors, performing assessments, design reviews, and commissioning support. You will guide enclosure performance improvements across roofing, waterproofing, facades, and air/vapor/thermal control systems while ensuring quality, schedule, and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, Building Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building enclosure consulting or related field.
• Strong understanding of roofing, waterproofing, facades, fenestration, and air/water/thermal/vapor barriers.
• Experience reviewing construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
• Strong project management and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects as the technical resource for owners, architects, developers, contractors, and project teams.
• Perform building assessments, enclosure design reviews, and commissioning support.
• Oversee construction quality assurance activities and prepare field reports.
