Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Consultant - Building Enclosures in Charlotte, NC to lead building enclosure projects within the Property & Buildings Team. The role involves on-site observations, design development, and construction documentation, with DoD project experience a plus.

Ideal candidates are licensed engineers or architects with 7–10 years of post-education experience, strong CAD skills, and knowledge of energy performance and green building practices.

Qualifications

• Registered Architect or Professional Engineer.
• Seven to ten years (minimum) of relevant post education experience in building preservation, enclosures, facade design, and sustainability.
• Familiar with building materials and construction processes for design, construction, and repair of building enclosures and facades.
• Familiar with codes and construction management for commercial, industrial, and historic buildings.
• Proficient using AutoCAD, Revit, and other technical software.
• Knowledge of LEED, Passive House, LBC, WELL, or related green rating systems.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office software, and math/prédictive tools.
• Ability to work at heights and travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Support architectural tasks to promote technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Practice building enclosure principles and building preservation.
• Perform on-site construction observations.
• Assist with multi-disciplinary on-site forensic investigations.
• Assist with project research, analysis and design calculations.
• Prepare reports, design documents and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Review fenestration, facade, roofing, and waterproofing.
• Provide building enclosure commissioning and consulting services.
• Assist with building enclosure design reviews and testing.
