Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in Washington, DC is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems. You will supervise engineering staff and contractors, ensuring safe, efficient performance and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 5–7 years of experience, supervisory capabilities, and BAS/HVAC expertise. This is a full-time, in-office position with a comprehensive benefits package and strong safety standards.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 5–7 years of industry-related experience or commensurate certification.
• At least 1 year of supervisory, training, or mentoring experience.
• CFC certification preferred or willingness to obtain; licenses as required.
• Knowledge of BAS, firefighting life safety equipment, and code requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment condition.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Oversee contractors and ensure compliance with standards.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers/technicians.
• Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and property managers.
• Oversee scopes of work with vendors and ensure contract compliance.
• Conduct regular inspections and address deficiencies.
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and records.
• Maintain safety compliance and training; follow OSHA/NFPA codes.
• Communicate with team, leadership, vendors, and tenants.
