Job summary

The American National Red Cross is seeking a Senior Facilities Engineer to oversee maintenance and repair of regulated buildings near Baltimore. You will serve as the onsite expert for building engineering, advise on systems design and maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Ideal candidates will have extensive HVAC and electrical/plumbing knowledge, 7+ years in related settings, and the ability to manage vendors, oversee work orders, and coordinate with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent trade school certificate required.
• Current Universal Refrigerant license.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Standard HVAC certification required or EPA 608 certification.
• ASHE membership or ability to obtain and maintain preferred.
• General building codes, NFPA and local municipal regulations.
• Stationary Engineer license or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience, preferably in lab or hospital settings.
• Travel may involve some travel.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite SME on building engineering; advise on system planning and maintenance.
• Perform service work on building systems: mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, carpentry; assist operations; maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Ensure regulatory operations meet standards and maintain required training.
• Enforce safety policies; conduct facility safety and fire inspections; schedule drills; manage security access.
• Oversee and maintain work-order system; coordinate and dispatch; address emergency requests.
• Provide admin support: preventative maintenance schedules, ordering, logs, and work order coordination.
• May receive regulated supplies and oversee bio-waste pickups and destruction manifests.
