Job summary

The American Red Cross in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced facilities professional to oversee maintenance and repair of regulated buildings. You will advise on building systems, electrical work, and general maintenance, ensuring compliance with procedures and regulations.

Ideal candidates have extensive HVAC knowledge, safety mindset, and strong vendor coordination skills. This role involves supervising preventive maintenance, outages, and keeping detailed operational logs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or trade school certificate is required.
• OSHA 10 certification is required.
• HVAC certification (EPA 608) and standard HVAC credentials required.
• ASHE membership preferred or obtainable.
• NFPA/NEC knowledge and building code familiarity.
• Stationary Engineer license or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of related experience in relevant environments.

Responsibilities

• Act as onsite engineering SME; advise on building systems, electricity and maintenance.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC and related machinery.
• Ensure regulatory compliance across operations and training programs.
• Enforce safety policies; conduct fire extinguisher inspections and safety logs.
• Manage work orders; coordinate maintenance dispatch for emergencies.
• Provide admin support: schedules, supplies, logs, and vendor coordination.
