Job summary

Meta is seeking a Lead Building Engineer to join our Data Center Critical Facility Operations team. You will provide senior technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, and controls systems within a critical facility, driving uptime and reliability.

As a senior leader, you will mentor engineers, analyze system performance via BMS, and drive proactive resolution of faults before they impact operations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in critical facility operations, data center engineering, or related mechanical/electrical/controls field.
• Experience leading maintenance activities and technical teams in a mission-critical or 24x7 environment.
• Experience troubleshooting complex building systems including power distribution, cooling and BMS.
• Experience developing or improving SOPs/PM programs or change management in a critical environment.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical resource for data center facility operations, guiding mechanical, electrical, HVAC and controls maintenance.
• Lead development and continuous improvement of SOPs, EOPs, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Oversee planned and unplanned maintenance, ensuring safety and uptime compliance.
• Mentor engineers and technicians on best practices and safety standards.
• Utilize BMS/monitoring platforms to analyze performance and preempt faults.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors on capital projects and commissioning.
• Manage work order workflows in the EAM system with accurate documentation.
• Suggest improvements to energy efficiency and reliability programs.
• Respond to and coordinate critical facility emergencies.
