$140,000.00/yr - $160,000.00/yr

- Act as the subject matter expert in California for building automation, HVAC operations, optimization strategies, and all relevant local regulations, policies, and incentive programs.
- Conduct on-site assessments of client buildings to evaluate estimated savings, integration costs, and suitability for our optimization services.
- Utilize internal modeling tools to perform energy analyses based on site assessments, utility data, mechanical specs, building drawings, and control sequences to identify energy savings opportunities.
- Manage the full lifecycle of project installation and setup, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery while maintaining clear communication with clients throughout.
- Oversee communication between our software platform and on-site controllers, testing control sequences with support from the programming team to minimize energy waste.
- Complete final commissioning and ensure all system integrations meet internal standards, client expectations, and any relevant incentive program requirements.
- Support the sales team by providing local market insights, key contacts, and technical guidance for proposals.
- Assist with incentive application and procurement processes where necessary.
- Maintain a strong understanding of California’s incentive landscape, identifying eligible opportunities and associated requirements.
- Serve as a local technical resource to support our service delivery team for live buildings.
- Build and maintain relationships with regional electrical, mechanical, and controls contractors.
- Continuously improve internal systems and processes to better serve the California market.
- Stay current on and provide insight into regional policy, regulatory changes, and market trends.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Based within commuting distance of Downtown Los Angeles
- Valid driver’s license
- Academic background in Engineering, with a strong interest in HVAC, building automation, or mechanical/electrical systems
- 5–10 years of experience in at least one of the following:
- Controls / Building Automation
- Energy auditing and/or energy services
- Ability to travel to client sites across California
- Motivated, curious, and excited to grow within a fast-paced startup environment
- A quick learner who thrives on taking initiative, solving problems, and improving processes
- Constantly seeking out efficiencies and proactively filling gaps
- Preferred additional qualifications:
- Experience managing installation or retrofit projects
- Hands-on experience with building automation systems
- Familiarity with Niagara Tridium products and platforms
- Access to a vehicle (gas and mileage reimbursed)
