Building Automation Project Manager

About Us:Edison Smart are hiring on behalf of a company delivering high impact project for hyperscale data centers and mission critical facilities.

Location: Illinois, United States (Remote with 10-20% travel)

Salary:Up to $150,000 base salary + package/ benefits.

Job Summary:The Building Automation Project Manager will support all aspects of a project, working closely with owners, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades in commercial and mission-critical environments. Responsibilities include assisting with permitting, evaluating bid proposals, developing construction master plans and schedules, performing site inspections, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with owner’s requirements, applicable laws, and specifications.

Essential Functions:

• Manage Routine Projects: Evaluate subcontractor proposals, coordinate pre-construction and construction elements, manage schedules, lead project meetings, oversee QA/QC plans, and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Monitor and Control Project Financials: Prepare and monitor project budgets, communicate with clients regarding additional fees/change orders, identify project risks, and support cost schedules for client billing.
• Manage Stakeholder Relations:Assist in proposal preparation, promote the firm’s services, maintain client relationships, and ensure client satisfaction through active communication.
• Administrative Tasks:Provide daily reporting, assist in project contract administration, manage project hours, and complete project and departmental reports.

Requirements:

• Intermediate Knowledge:Project management software (MS Project, Procore), open-source protocols (BACnet, Modbus, SNMP), MS Office Suite.
• Skills:Attention to detail, effective communication, organizational skills, ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies, ability to work remotely, follow safety requirements, analyze documents, work under pressure, plan and delegate tasks.
• Travel Requirements:Approximately 20% travel across the US for client sites, meetings, business development, industry conferences, etc.
