Job summary

Thomas Young Group seeks an experienced building enclosure consultant to join our Seattle-area practice. The role involves performing envelope assessments, coordinating with project teams, and guiding enclosure design for both new construction and restoration projects.

You will review drawings, conduct field tests, and prepare repair recommendations, with a strong emphasis on clear communication with owners and architects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in building enclosure consulting.
• Background in Architecture or Engineering.
• Experience with façade systems, roofing, waterproofing, air and water barriers.
• Knowledge of enclosure investigations, condition assessments, and construction administration.
• Experience preparing technical reports and repair recommendations.
• Strong communication and client facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform building envelope assessments and site observations.
• Support enclosure design for new construction projects.
• Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Conduct field testing and QA for waterproofing and air/water performance.
• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, ownership groups, and project teams.
• Support projects from investigation through construction completion.
• Participate in client meetings and project discussions.
