Job summary

EXP is seeking a Certified Code Consultant to join our Coral Gables or Fort Lauderdale offices in Florida. You will lead building and life safety code reviews for new construction and existing facilities, and collaborate with architects, engineers, property owners, contractors, and AHJs to identify compliance requirements early.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 8+ years of experience in building code consulting, with active certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, fire science, building construction, or related field.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in building code consulting, plans examination, or related fields.
• Current nationally recognized code certifications (ICC) preferred.
• State/local licensure or ability to obtain it within an agreed period.

Responsibilities

• Lead building and life safety code reviews for new construction and existing facilities.
• Coordinate code requirements across multiple disciplines and with AHJs.
• Prepare code analyses, compliance matrices and life-safety narratives.
• Mentor staff and contribute to internal training and proposals.
