Job summary

York County Government is seeking a full-time Industrial Commercial Inspector III to perform comprehensive inspections of building systems to ensure compliance with ICC and related codes. The role requires driving county vehicles and coordinating with contractors and officials.

The position offers a competitive salary range, potential provisional certification options, and opportunities for advancement as certifications are obtained. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• High School Graduation or GED equivalent; Associate degree preferred.
• One (1) year of construction-related experience or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license to operate county vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Plans and conducts inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial building construction to ensure code compliance.
• Reviews drawings and specifications for code compliance.
• Maintains thorough records of inspections and communicates results to contractors and officials.
• Explains applicable codes and processes to contractors, engineers, architects, and developers.
