York County Government is seeking a full-time Industrial Commercial Inspector III to perform comprehensive inspections of building systems to ensure compliance with ICC and related codes. The role requires driving county vehicles and coordinating with contractors and officials.

The Planning & Development Department is hiring a full-time (40hours weekly), non-exempt Industrial Commercial Inspector III to join our team. The purpose of this position is to conduct complex, comprehensive inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical components to ensure compliance with all applicable building codes and related codes and ordinances.
Projected Salary Range/Grade 118:$28.99 - $34.79, salary is determined based on experience and education. In accordance with South Carolina Building Codes Council, an individual who does not have all certifications required by the job description to practice as a Commercial Inspector may be eligible for employment under a provisional registration while the certifications are obtained. Position level will be based upon to the number of required certifications obtained, with opportunity to increase pay grade as additional certifications are obtained.
