Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Project Manager in the Chicagoland area to lead Data Center and Building Automation Systems installations. You will coordinate design, engineering, software, and construction teams, manage budget and schedule, and ensure customer satisfaction.

Regular onsite collaboration, safety emphasis, and effective communication are essential. Strong MS Project, AutoCAD/Visio, and field reporting are required for success.

Qualifications

• Requires thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products and willingness to work with AI app integrations.
• Requires general knowledge of AutoCAD and Visio for reviewing drawings.
• Some electrical engineering/mechanical engineering training / experience is preferred.
• Requires working knowledge of low voltage electronics.
• Requires knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) operation and control.
• Requires thorough knowledge of HVAC system operation and control and hydronic system operation and control.
• Must have a good understanding of serial and IP communication protocols.
• Excellent time management and time tracking are required; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills are required.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision and direction.
• Must work well in a team environment and be willing to assume unassigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Leads “Sales to Operations Turnover” meeting with Design Engineer, Account Executive, Software Engineer and Construction Manager to gain understanding of project scope.
• Displays leadership by directing installation and integration activities for Data Center and Building Automation Systems projects.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project team to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
• Develops MS Project schedules, identifies milestones and critical path, and maintains schedule as project progresses.
• Prepares monthly project forecasts indicating estimated cost and labor requirements; attends regular project meetings.
• Prepares regular project AIA billing and coordinates turnover of completed projects including training and documentation.
• Facilitates lessons learned reviews with the project team to identify positives and improvements.
