Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Building Automation Specialist - PLCs Application Engineer to accelerate automation opportunities. You will work with field sales to design and demonstrate solutions, providing hands-on and remote support across PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Drives, and networks.

You will lead technical engagements, create architecture diagrams, BOMs, and proof-of-concepts, and collaborate with Account Managers to drive growth in a dynamic building automation landscape.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation/motion control systems.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with limited violations and be 18 or older.
• Verbal and written communication skills in English
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead on automation opportunities, guiding customers and sales teams through solution development.
• Provide application-level support for Siemens automation products (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Drives, Industrial Networks).
• Conduct discovery meetings with customers to understand project requirements and identify the best-fit solutions.
• Develop and deliver compelling product demonstrations and proof-of-concept configurations.
• Create technical documentation such as system architecture diagrams, configuration notes, and BOMs.
• Applies acquired process, product and/or equipment knowledge based on current industry trends, best practices, performance, price, and functionality.
• Performs complex hardware and/or software design consultation in accordance with customer/project needs.
• Works closely with Account Managers and Sales Specialists to achieve sales and market growth.
• Resolves very complex technical problems to meet customers' needs. Acts as one escalation point for major customer technical issues when on-site issue resolution is required.
• Supports marketing and knowledge transfer through participation on at least one technology core team.
• Provides periodic knowledge transfer events with channel partners in coordination with the Channel Account Manager.
• Supports our channel on opportunities in collaboration with the channel application engineer and sales team.
• Generates technical collateral such as application notes and examples for reuse by others.
