Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Building Automation Design Engineer – PLC & Industrial Controls to lead the design of advanced control solutions for data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, laboratories, and other critical environments. The role requires translating requirements into complete design packages and coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure project success.

The position supports a hybrid work model anywhere in the US, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, industrial controls, or PLC-based control system design.
Proficiency with AutoCAD or Visio and knowledge of PLC/DDC architecture.
Ability to travel up to 25% and legally eligible to work in the United States.
Experience collaborating with programmers and automation specialists to support implementation, commissioning, and field execution.

Responsibilities

Lead the design of building automation and PLC-based control solutions for critical environments.
Translate project requirements, contract documents, and customer standards into complete control system design packages.
Develop automation network architectures and integration solutions.
Collaborate with programmers, project managers, commissioning specialists, field technicians, and customers to ensure designs are executable and project objectives are met.
Review plans, specifications, codes, and customer requirements while performing design reviews and risk assessments.
