Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Senior Building Automation Design Engineer – PLC & Industrial Controls to design advanced HVAC control systems for data centers, pharmaceutical facilities, laboratories and other mission-critical environments. This hybrid US role requires travel and collaboration with multi-discipline teams.

You will lead control system packages, develop PLC/DDC strategies, and ensure compliance, safety and quality across projects, mentoring engineers and coordinating designs with customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in building automation, HVAC controls, industrial controls, or PLC-based design.
• Ability to lead design of complex automation projects with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Visio, and PLC/DDC architectures.
• Experience with BACnet, Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of building automation and PLC-based control solutions for data centers and critical environments.
• Translate project requirements into complete control system design packages (drawings, I/O lists, network diagrams).
• Design PLC and DDC control strategies for HVAC, central plants, and process systems.
• Develop automation network architectures and integration solutions.
• Collaborate with programmers, project managers, commissioning specialists, field technicians, contractors, and customers.
• Perform design reviews and quality assurance to ensure compliance and project success.
