Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas Inc. is seeking a full-time Controls Technician III in Montgomery, AL, to install, program, and service commercial building control systems onsite.

You’ll support HVAC techs, mentor junior staff, and manage programming for new and retrofit projects, while ensuring safety and project quality. The role emphasizes diagnosing DDC systems, maintaining BAS, and documenting work orders, with opportunities for professional growth through Daikin Learning and certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or GED and technical training.
• 5+ years of equivalent education/experience in BAS/HVAC or related field.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• No work visa sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive customer service and build long-term relationships.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot direct digital control systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance, commissioning, and replacements as needed.
• Maintain BAS by monitoring logs, schedules, software, and hardware.
• Support HVAC technicians with controls expertise and training.
• Create/modify programming and graphics for installations and retrofits.
• Commission control installations to ensure sequences meet design/specs.
• Document billing, inventory, timecards, and related reports.
