Job summary

AXIS Capital is seeking a Senior Underwriter for Builders Risk in a hybrid US role with offices in major markets. You will build broker and client relationships, identify profitable opportunities, and manage a quality book of business for the US Construction unit.

The candidate will bring deep builder’s risk knowledge, project and master builder risk experience, and the ability to drive disciplined underwriting and market engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of builder’s risk underwriting experience focused on large accounts.
• Experience with projects and master builder risk solutions.
• Knowledge of coverage, pricing and marketplace dynamics.

Responsibilities

• Establish themselves as a go-to builder’s risk expert with brokers and clients.
• Underwrite within governance framework and negotiate terms.
• Develop relationships with broker partners to support retention.
• Manage portfolio with new and renewal business to meet objectives.
• Attend industry events and collaborate with colleagues across AXIS.
