Job summary

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Configuration Specialist to lead and enhance application build and release processes, with automation to support CI/CD for testing aligned to the agency's goals and mission.

This role covers all phases of the application build process, serving as the technical expert for performance, build automation, and version-management tools, and working closely with development teams to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version-management processes.
• Experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration and version-management processes.
• Experience deploying new releases of application configuration and version-management software.

Responsibilities

• Manage source code control processes, defining standards, baselining, and versioning; build automation is core.
• Serve as technical advisor and liaison with vendors and their teams.
• Act as expert on performance issues for systems using Build Automation, CM, and Version Management tools.
• Deploy new releases of build, configuration, and version-management software.
• Guide staff on project administration for applications using build automation and CM.
• Design and script automation workflows for build and release operations.
• Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to reduce times and boost productivity.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on build/deploy failures and implement corrective actions.
• Create and update process documentation for build processes.
• Perform builds/deployments across Bridges environments and manage branches in Release/Sandbox.
