Job summary
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Configuration Specialist to manage and enhance application build and release processes, including implementing automation to support CI/CD for testing activities aligned with the agency's goals.
This role covers all phases of the Build process, from source control and baselining to deployment, with a focus on performance, reliability, and reducing build times.
Qualifications
- 10+ years in build automation and software configuration
- Experience researching, evaluating, and recommending configuration and version-management products
- Experience deploying new releases and guiding project administration for CI/CD workflows
Responsibilities
- Manage source code control standards and baselining; enforce build standards
- Serve as technical advisor with vendors and their teams
- Act as expert on performance issues for systems using Build Automation, CM, and Version Management tools
- Deploy new releases of build, configuration, and version-management software
- Guide staff on project administration for Build Automation and related tools
- Design and script automation workflows to support build and release operations
- Monitor build pipeline performance to reduce times and improve productivity
- Perform root-cause analysis on build/deployment failures and implement corrective actions
- Create and update build process documentation
- Coordinate build/deployment across multiple environments and manage branches in Release and Sandbox
- Assess issues to determine internal resolution vs external support
