Job summary

Dallas County is seeking a Senior Budget/Policy Analyst in the Office of Budget and Evaluation to facilitate policy decisions and analyze budget and staffing problems. You will monitor appropriations, produce budgets, and coordinate with departments.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 3 years of budget/financial management experience, plus strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency with standard software.

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Three (3) years of professional work related experience in budget or financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes complex budgetary and department operations and provides recommendations.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of departmental operations to identify issues early.
• Prepares written memorandums and budgets for assigned departments.
• Prepares and monitors line item budgets for departments.
• Prepares interim reports on financial and operational matters.
• Attends meetings as required by Budget Office.
• Supervises work products of junior staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
