Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional budget/analytical experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication; proven budget narratives and justifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead budget formulation activities and provide guidance to budget analysts.
  • Lead budget execution, develop projections, and identify surpluses or shortfalls.
  • Provide reports and briefings to stakeholders with clear analyses and recommendations.
  • Prepare detailed budget tables and narratives for the House Budget Justification.
  • Provide consultative solutions to complex financial inquiries from Congress and leadership.
  • Plan, formulate, and justify fiscal year budget estimates for submissions to committees and OMB.
  • Analyze laws and regulations to assess impact on financial practices; implement policy changes.
  • Process transactions in financial systems; ensure data accuracy and reconciliation.
  • Respond to audit inquiries and ensure timely compliance with audit findings.
  • Coordinate with CAO and Treasury on appropriations and warrants.
  • Enter and retrieve data in financial systems; serve as SME.
