Qualifications

  • Knowledge of budgeting methods and state program costs.
  • Familiar with WOLFS, IBARS, Excel, ESS payroll.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and financial data analysis.
  • Strong arithmetic and statistical skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and payroll systems.

Responsibilities

  • Review department budget requests for financial accuracy across programs.
  • Analyze costs and benefits and recommend funding or reallocations.
  • Research budget requests and prepare recommendations for the Governor's budget.
  • Attend hearings and meetings with legislators and fiscal staff.
  • Prepare IBARS narratives, graphics, and reports for budgets.
  • Monitor revenues and federal financial tracking; maintain databases.
  • Prepare and deliver budget guidance and training to agencies.
