Job summary

Wyoming Game and Fish Department in Cheyenne, WY seeks a General Accounting Manager to lead a 16-person section handling accounts payable, revenue reconciliation, grants, procurement, and budgeting. You will ensure compliance with federal/state laws and GAAP while supporting the agency’s mission to conserve wildlife and serve people.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or closely related field; preferred government experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive financial experience at Accounting Manager I level or equivalent.
• Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and government budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee core financial functions: AP, revenue reconciliation, AR, grants, contracts, procurement, fixed assets, and audits.
• Develop and monitor the department's $100M+ annual budget with senior leadership.
• Coordinate with CFO, Budget Manager, and Director’s office on budget development and analysis.
