Job summary

The Maine Department of Transportation seeks a professional manager for the Bridge Program, leading a team of engineers, project managers, and technicians to deliver a portfolio of capital projects.

Responsibilities include schedules, budgets, stakeholder engagement, and procurement. A PE license and PM experience are required, with broad leadership responsibilities and public-facing duties in Maine.

Qualifications

• Professional engineer licensure with at least 1 year of project management at the professional level OR
• 12 years of technical engineering experience with at least 3 years of project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project schedules and budgets, monitor expenditures, authorize work, and allocate team resources.
• Evaluate progress to ensure compliance with policies, standards, obligations, program direction, and laws.
• Serve as the Department’s primary contact for municipal officials, legislators, planning organizations, and federal officials, and conduct public meetings as needed.
• Manage the contract procurement process including reviewing proposals, negotiating, and preparing external resources agreements.
