Job summary

KS Engineers, P.C. is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector - Bridge to join our team in New Jersey. You will inspect bridges and other structures, verify findings, and ensure compliance with OSHA and MPT requirements on our transportation projects.

You will mentor inspection staff, stay current with design criteria and inspection standards, and use engineering and drafting software to support project delivery. A strong background in bridge construction and NJDOT experience is required.

Qualifications

Minimum of 7 years of experience on bridge construction projects.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working on NJDOT projects preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
NICET certification in Highway Construction or related discipline preferred.
TCC (Traffic Control Coordinator) certification Required.
New Jersey Safety Alliance Training (NJSAT) Certification.
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Grade I.
Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant bridge construction/inspection experience may be considered.
Additional coursework or training in bridge inspection, structural inspection, construction management, or transportation engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform inspections of bridges and other structures to assess conditions and compliance with applicable requirements.
Review and verify inspection findings, reports, photographs, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure all inspection procedures and requirements established by the Client are properly implemented.
Verify that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA requirements and that appropriate Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) measures are in place as required by the governing jurisdiction.
Ensure all equipment, tools, and resources required to safely and effectively complete inspections are available and properly maintained.
Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to inspection staff.
Maintain current knowledge of applicable design criteria, inspection standards, codes, and industry technologies.
Demonstrate proficiency in engineering, drafting, inspection, and administrative software required to complete assigned projects.
