Job summary

KS Engineers, P.C. seeks a Senior Structural Inspector to perform field inspections of structural and bridge construction/rehabilitation work in New York. You will inspect structural steel, concrete, welding, and bolting, review plans and materials, and ensure contractor operations meet NYCDOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of structural/bridge construction inspection experience.
• Experience with bridge rehabilitation and transportation projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections of structural and bridge construction/rehabilitation work.
• Inspect structural steel, concrete, reinforcing steel, welding, bolting, and related construction activities.
• Review plans, specifications, shop drawings, and approved materials.
• Monitor contractor operations for compliance with NYCDOT requirements.
• Document daily activities, quantities, deficiencies, and corrective actions.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and photographic documentation.
• Coordinate with the Resident Engineer, Project Manager, contractors, and other inspectors.
• Identify construction issues and communicate deficiencies to the project team.
• Perform field measurements and verify completed work.
• Work safely around active roadways, bridges, elevated structures, and construction equipment.
