Job summary

Mid-Atlantic Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Bridge Inspector in South Carolina to lead field inspection teams, manage projects, and collaborate with engineers and clients. Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of bridge inspection experience and advanced certifications.

You will oversee schedules, safety, and budgets, mentor junior staff, and use drones and NDE tools to identify deficiencies and plan rehabilitation with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5 to 10 years of experience in bridge inspections.
• Certified Bridge Inspector (or advanced certification).
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, NBIS standards, and bridge management systems.
• Leadership experience in managing and training field teams.
• Proficiency in AASHTOWare, BrM, AutoCAD and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead inspection teams in the field following NBIS, DOT, and AASHTO standards.
• Coordinate with team members to complete inspections safely and on schedule.
• Identify structural deficiencies, safety hazards, and maintenance needs for bridges.
• Oversee inspection schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
• Mentor and train junior inspectors on best practices and reporting.
• Utilize advanced inspection tools such as drones, ultrasonic testing, and NDE methods.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies to develop rehabilitation plans.

What You Bring to the Team:

• 7 + of experience in bridge inspection, structural assessment, or engineering.
• Certified Bridge Inspector (or advanced certification).
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, NBIS standards, and bridge management systems.
• Leadership experience in managing and training field teams.
• Proficiency in AASHTOWare, BrM (Bridge Management), AutoCAD, and related software.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth project execution.
