Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced Structural Engineering Technical Director - Bridge Inspection District Manager for the Carolinas, with hybrid work across Mooresville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Columbia and Greenville. Lead district bridge inspection programs, guide TEC leads, ensure NBIS compliance and drive revenue growth while partnering with DOTs and municipalities.

The role requires 12+ years NBIS bridge inspection experience, a PE license, strong leadership, and excellent stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; multi‑state licensure preferred (NC & SC).
• 12+ years of progressive bridge inspection NBIS experience with district or regional leadership.
• Proven success leading senior technical leaders and multi‑state or district teams.
• Experience managing bridge inspection programs for NCDOT/SCDOT or comparable agencies.
• Strong QA/QC, safety, risk mitigation, and project delivery knowledge.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide district leadership, direction and mentorship to statewide Bridge Inspection TEC Leads.
• Establish consistent inspection practices, QA/QC standards, and delivery processes.
• Ensure NBIS compliance and adoption of innovative inspection technologies.
• Lead business development for NC/SC bridge inspection services and client engagement.
• Oversee district workload planning, staffing utilization and financial performance.
• Collaborate with national leads to align pursuits with growth priorities.
• Represent WSP as an industry leader in Carolinas bridge inspection.
