Job summary

WSP is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineering Technical Director - Bridge Inspection District Manager to oversee district‑level bridge inspection programs across NC/SC. Hybrid work arrangement; location can be Mooresville, Charlotte, Raleigh, or other authorized NC/SC sites.

Lead the district's technical excellence, ensure NBIS compliance, and drive revenue growth and profitability while partnering with DOTs and municipalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi‑state licensure preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive bridge inspection experience under NBIS.
• Experience leading district or multi‑state bridge inspection programs.
• Strong QA/QC, safety, risk, and project delivery knowledge.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel within NC and SC.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to statewide Bridge Inspection TEC Leads and staff.
• Ensure consistent inspection practices, QA/QC, and delivery processes.
• Lead safety, accountability, collaboration, and ethical decisions.
• Work with regional and national leadership on hiring and workforce planning.
• Ensure NBIS compliance and adopt innovative inspection technologies.
• Lead business development for district bridge inspection services.
• Oversee district workload planning and financial performance.
• Maintain relationships with NCDOT, SCDOT and clients.
• Represent WSP in industry and support thought leadership.
