Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. seeks a Lead Construction Design Engineer to develop temporary civil and structural designs for bridge and infrastructure projects. The role can be based in Richmond, VA or Annapolis Junction, MD, and includes leadership of design engineers and CAD modelers.

You will ensure safety, code compliance, and cost-effective solutions while coordinating with clients, owners, vendors, and field teams. Strong PE credentials and 10+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and PE license for VA/MD.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience on temporary construction works for bridges/highways.
• Experience leading design teams and coordinating with field personnel and clients.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and review temporary construction engineering designs for safety, constructability, and code compliance.
• Provide leadership to design engineers and CAD modelers; collaborate with senior management for growth opportunities.
• Coordinate project schedules, reviews, and submittals with internal teams and clients; manage third-party reviews.
• Represent Kokosing in client and project management meetings; support pre-bid cost estimates.
