Job summary

Kokosing seeks a Lead Construction Design Engineer to craft temporary civil and structural designs for bridge and infrastructure projects. The role adapts between our Richmond, VA and Annapolis Junction, MD offices, guiding a team of design engineers and CAD modelers to deliver safe, economical engineering solutions.

You will collaborate with field personnel, clients, and vendors, ensuring codes, safety, and constructability while optimizing means and methods alongside operations teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering field.
• Current Professional Engineer license in Virginia and/or Maryland with ability to obtain other states.
• Minimum 10 years of design experience in temporary construction works for bridge/highway projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and review temporary construction engineering designs for safety, constructability, and code compliance.
• Provide leadership and direction to other design engineers and CAD modelers.
• Coordinate project schedules and manage submittals with internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent Kokosing during client and project management meetings.
• Review documents with estimating staff to develop pre-bid means, methods, and cost estimates.
